It is time that we had a Taxpayer’s Discount Card: The Taxpayer’s U-Keep-It Card.
What if you could shop around for the best property tax deals. Nowadays, that is possible because money is just data.
Here is what I believe that tax reform should accomplish:
* Allows taxpayers to shop around for the best tax deal.
* Reduces the taxpayer’s overall tax burden.
* Is progressive, in that low income taxpayers realize a tax benefit that represents a larger percentage of their income. (Something for the coupon clippers and bargain shoppers among us.)
* Promotes economic growth and job creation (the usual stuff.)
* Maintains or increases the property tax relief enacted from the recently legislated tax swap.
* Decreases or eliminates the sales tax increase from the recent tax swap.
* It is a simple, universal payment method applicable to all manner of taxes and fees.
